Role Overview
As a Behaviour Intern with us, you won’t just be gaining experience; you’ll be an integral part of our Behaviour Support and Therapy Team. This entry-level role is designed to help you build a strong foundation in applied behaviour analysis theory and practice while also honing your skills in collaboration. Reporting to the Behaviour Team Leader, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of our clients through evidence-based practices and collaborative efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaboration Influencer: Facilitate collaboration across the Behaviour Support and Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy teams.
- Hands-On Learning: Under the direct supervision of our Team Leaders and Clinical Director, engage in direct behaviour therapy sessions in home, clinic, and community settings.
- Skill Development: Participate in functional behaviour assessments, support plan development, caregiver training, data analysis, and reporting.
- Program Enhancement: Contribute to the development and implementation of individualised skill acquisition programs and behaviour support plans.
- Resource Creation: Develop resources and materials for program implementation, including data tracking sheets and communication records.
- Data-Driven Insights: Use our online data collection system to gather, collate, and analyse client data, contributing to program decision-making.
- Group Program Participation: Play a role in implementing group programs fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Empowering Reporting: Assist in writing progress reports and exit summaries, ensuring clear communication of client achievements.
- Supportive Mentorship: Support Registered Behaviour Technicians through observations, feedback, and monthly sessions.
- Professional Development: Attend weekly team meetings, meet minimum supervision requirements, remain current with research, and actively contribute to the growth of our team.
- Candidates for our Behaviour Analyst Intern positions must either have completed a verified course sequence (VCS) or be enrolled in a VCS towards Certification.
